First Swissmint
auction of unique
trial mintings
On 26 October 2023, the first Swissmint auction of trial mintings took place at SINCONA AG in Zurich. Trial strikes of selected special coins from 2022 to 2024 were auctioned off. It was a unique opportunity for numismatists to acquire an authentic piece of the production process.
Trial mintings
These are individual coins that are produced at Swissmint during the process leading to the definitive design of a special coin. Aspects such as the matting, the finishing, the minting, the appearance, the minting pressure, as well as quality and optical characteristics, are checked to ensure that every coin that leaves Swissmint is of the highest quality.
Partners
Partners of this auction were the auction houses SINCONA in Zurich and NGSA in Geneva.
