Special coin: Pioneers of Swiss aviation
It is made of silver 999, weighs 20g and has a diameter of 33mm.

Obverse
Below the inscription ‘Pioneers of Swiss Aviation’, four balloons rise into the air against the background of the Gummfluh, La Videmanette and the Rüeblihorn. They symbolise the great technological advances from the beginnings of aviation and the passion of early Swiss aviation pioneers. Balloons gain height by using the weight difference between the hot air or gas mixture (hydrogen or helium) in the balloon and the surrounding air.
Reverse
The reverse of all coins in the new three-part ‘Swiss aviation’ series features the face value of 20 Swiss francs, the inscription ‘CONFOEDERATIO HELVETICA’, the year of minting and the mint mark B for Swissmint. In the centre of these elements is a propeller that transforms into a turbine.
