They divide the year into four periods, defined by astronomical, calendar-based or characteristic climatic features. These four seasons arise from the tilt of the Earth\u2019s axis (approx. 23.5\u00b0) and the Earth\u2019s orbit around the Sun. This is achieved using a stylised vegetation cycle: in summer, the stylised plants bloom in all their glory; in autumn, it is harvest time and the plants bear ripe fruit; in winter, the plants are barren, only to grow again in spring.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner]<div class=\"section__teaser\"><div class=\"teaser row reverse\"><div class=\"teaser__media col-l-6 col-xs-12 intro-animation-mobile\"><div class=\"picture_container picture_container--cover\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sondermuenze.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sommer-stempel-620x620px.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sondermuenze.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sommer-stempel-620x620px.jpg\" alt=\"About the \u201cFour seasons \u2013 Summer\u201d special coin\" width=\"960\" height=\"850\"\/><\/picture><\/div><\/div><div class=\"teaser__content col-l-6 col-xs-12 intro-animation intro-animation--right\"><div class=\"teaser__content__inside row_simple\"><h2>About the \u201cFour seasons \u2013 Summer\u201d special coin<\/h2><div class=\"teaser__content__container\"><p>A few days before the summer solstice in 2026, Swissmint launched the new \u201cFour seasons\u2009\u2009\u2013 Summer\u201d special coin on 11 June 2026, thereby celebrating both the astronomical start of summer and the launch of the new four-part \u201cFour seasons\u201d series.<\/p>\n<p>Following the \u201cFour seasons \u2013 Summer\u201d special coin, the \u201cFour Seasons \u2013 Winter\u201d special coin will be released in the second half of 2026. The \u201cFour seasons \u2013 Autumn\u201d special coin will follow in 2027, and the \u201cFour seasons \u2013 Spring\u201d special coin will conclude the four-part series in 2028.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>[vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;]<div class=\"section__text section__text--center intro-animation intro-animation--bottom\">\n<h4>Obverse<\/h4>\n<p>In summer, the Northern Hemisphere is tilted most towards the sun and therefore receives more light and heat during this season. The sun is thus a fitting symbol for this season. A world map centred on Switzerland is delicately outlined within the bright sun\u2019s core. The \u201cSummer Triangle\u201d constellation, typical of this season, is depicted in the bottom left-hand corner. The coin\u2019s edge bears the word \u201cEstate\u201d (summer in Italian), as well as \u201cgiugno, luglio, agosto\u201d (Italian for June, July and August).<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;]<div class=\"section__text section__text--center intro-animation intro-animation--bottom\">\n<h4>Reverse<\/h4>\n<p>The four seasons are depicted on the reverse of the \u201cFour seasons\u201d series in the form of a stylised vegetation cycle. The section representing summer is raised and polished, with the plant shown here in full bloom.
